Another user experienced a similar problem: Just installed Fedora 22 via fedup, downloaded something in Firefox Nightly and clicked "open in folder" when download was finished. reporter: libreport-2.5.1 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: /usr/bin/nautilus --gapplication-service crash_function: finish_adding_new_icons executable: /usr/bin/nautilus global_pid: 2261 kernel: 4.0.4-301.fc22.x86_64 package: nautilus-3.16.2-1.fc22 reason: nautilus killed by SIGABRT runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000
Deleting .config/nautilus fixed this for me (I've just updated from Fedora 21)
Another user experienced a similar problem: Copied the home directory from an F19 system (did restorecon as well). Enabling desktop icons crashes. Trying to run Gnome Classic session crashes the whole thing. reporter: libreport-2.6.1 backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: nautilus --no-default-window --force-desktop crash_function: finish_adding_new_icons executable: /usr/bin/nautilus global_pid: 2622 kernel: 4.0.8-300.fc22.i686+PAE package: nautilus-3.16.2-2.fc22 reason: nautilus killed by SIGABRT runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000
Removing the .config/nautilus/desktop-metadata file fixed it. The icons are huge, but at least it doesn't crash.
