Description Paul F. Johnson 2004-04-10 21:15:52 UTC
Description of problem:
The normal method of adding an applet to the panel bar does not work.
For users who haven't logged in for a while, the applets fail to load.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.0-1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on the panel bar
2. Select to add the clock applet to the bar
3.

Actual results:
The "Clock" applet appears to have died unexpectedly.

Do you want to reload this applet?

(If you choose not to reload it at this time you can always add it by
right clicking on the panel and clicking on the "Add to Panel" submenu)

Clicking to add the applet results in the same error being generated

Expected results:
The clock is added to the panel bar and is available after logging out
and logging in.

Additional info:
This problem was not in the previous (roughly Wednesday 07/04 for the
update) version.

Comment 1 Paul F. Johnson 2004-04-11 19:51:03 UTC
I've changed this to gnome-panel rather than gnome-applets. I've just
recompiled from the gnome sources the panel and everything works again.

Comment 2 Mark McLoughlin 2004-04-14 14:28:50 UTC
Is everything working from a clean install now? It sounds like it was
some spurious error - maybe for some reason the gnome-panel package
wasn't installed properly for the first time? I haven't seen any
problems here.

Comment 3 Paul F. Johnson 2004-04-25 21:46:07 UTC
Seems fine now. Report can be closed. Thanks
