Hi Mat.
Here is some extra information that may help you.
I was testing with F22 Beta 7 as admin logon and as standard user.

Using tweaktool, I chose the option to display home, and mounted drives on the desktop.

I then mounted a drive (another partition) and also inserted a flashdrive into the USB jack.

The drives showed up on the desktop. However, using mouse and right clicking on the desktop image did not present the unmount option.

The following may also help you.
Logging out and returning with Wayland (testing Wayland) resulted in the icons disappearing from desktop view.
Reverting to Gnome view did not restore the icons. The tweaktool did not appear able to do that either. Ergo--no icons showing for mounted drives.

A third perhaps related problem. (After returning from testing Wayland) was that pulling down nautilus screen, schrunched the display to about 10x10 cm (about 2.5 inches square).

Perhaps unrelated. testing the standard user with wayland, the desktop icons returned, but no unmount when right-clicking on the icon for the mounted drive.

Reminder Beta F22 TC7.

Re comment 1

A reboot restores the icons, but not the omitted unmount entry.
One more observation. Starting Nautilus and looking through the list of partitions that may be (un)mounted, right clicking on an entry for a mounted partition does the unmount. For a flashdrive, the message ie eject, for the partition, it says unmount.

Same problem with Fedora 23 RC2

Please include this corrective in Fedora 23 Nautilus.

The recent versions of Nautlius has removed options that I used so as to avoid Carpal Tunnel problems.

1 Optional direct delete to avoid Trash bin.
2 Ability to unmount a mounted drive by directly clicking on it's icon image (on the desktop).

The problems occur as pains in the ligaments or the nerves adjacent to the ligaments in the arm. Excessive clicking on the mouse or excessive keyboard clicking with the same key causes it.

The pain can be reduced with iebprofan medication, but it is important to have a Fedora Gnome interface that has shortcuts to reduce the amount of mouse clicks, and finger ligament pain.

What I would like to do is to use the Nautilus from F21 in place of the F22 and F23 versions.

Or at least, port those short cuts forward.

Any clues or advice. ??? Refer also to Bugzilla 1226711
