Description of problem: User has carved out a disk using three disks say (sda, sdb and sdc). Now when user selects the device sda and click on create brick the tabular column displays the correct device and correct size. Under the tabular column there is another size which is being displayed. UI should not be showing this size. screenshot is attached. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-3.6.00.0.master.20150406175153.gite240701.el6.noarch How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add a RHEL7 host to rhsc. 2. Now sync all the storage devices in the host. 3. select the device which has a lock symbol to it. 4. click on the create brick link. Actual results: In the create brick dialog user will be able to see two sizes one is of the device which is created by using three devices/disks and another is the actual size of the disk which user has selected. Expected results: UI should not display the actual size of the disk if the disk is used to create another device. Additional info:
Created attachment 1011634 [details] Attaching screenshot for create brick dialog
We are displaying the size of the brick under the device list in create brick pop up. It helps in cases like when multiple devices are selected to create brick. For example if we select following three devices, sda with size 50GB sdb with size 200GB sdc with size 250GB Final size of the brick will be approximately 500 GB. It will displayed below the device list. Do u want to remove this size field? Note: Size was showing wrong information in case of devices with lock selected in storage devices list. It will fixed with fix for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1208125.
I do not want the size field to be removed from the dialog. Instead i did not want the size to be shown when user tries to create a brick on the device which is already used. As you said this bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1208125 should fix this issue.
Dependent bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1208125 moved to Modified
Verified and works fine with build ovirt-engine-3.6.0-0.0.master.20150429182702.git939c2e8.el6.noarch. With the fix in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1208125, only the devices which are selected by the user gets displayed and not all the available devices. So the size is been displayed correctly.
oVirt 3.6.0 has been released on November 4th, 2015 and should fix this issue. If problems still persist, please open a new BZ and reference this one.
