I've contacted the developer via e-mail, there is no ticketing system for mj, and he asks for a way to reproduce the error. Can you provide us with that?
Steps to reproduce: (1) Start a local game with automatic declarations enabled. (2) Play until one of the players calls Mah Jong. (3) As the players are declaring their hands, select File > Close.

Julian, the developer, provided a patch for this bug. It will show up in a regular release in the future, but in the mean time I've made an updated package with the patch.
