I cannot reproduce on updated centos7.1:
Installing:
 mariadb                     x86_64      1:5.5.41-2.el7_0       base      8.9 M
Installing for dependencies:
 mariadb-libs                x86_64      1:5.5.41-2.el7_0       base      754 k
...

Both NVRs are out of date, are YUM repositories test machine is using up to date?
