I can reproduce this issue just with bond network. Test version: rhev-hypervisor6-6.7-20150728.0.el6ev ovirt-node-3.2.3-14.el6.noarch Add rhevh to RHEVM 3.5.4-1.2 via bond(with one nic) network failed. Test steps: 1. Install rhev-hypervisor6-6.7-20150728.0.el6ev 2. configure bond network with one nic. 3. add rhevh to rhevm. Test result: Failed to add rhevh to rhevm.
Can this be reproduced on RHEL-H hosts as well?
chaofeng, can you help on comment 5? we need to setup RHEL to try this as well. this bug is medium, and we are busy on rhevh 3.5.4 GA, so we can provide this needinfo after it. thanks
Cat reproduce this issue. RHEV-H version: rhev-hypervisor6-6.7-20150819.0.iso Test steps: 1. Install rhev-hypervisor6-6.7-20150819.0.iso 2. Create and configure bond0 with only one NIC port, configure root password. 3. Add RHEV-H in RHEV-M3.5.4-1.2 web portal. Test result: Failed to add RHEV-H to RHEV-M, the RHEV-H status is "Non Operational" In RHEV-M event will show: Failed to configure management network on host bondtest. Host bondtest has an invalid interface bond0 for the management network configuration. Host bondtest installation failed. Failed to configure management network on the host. BTW if we configure two NIC ports to bond0 in step2, add RHEV-H to RHEV-M will successful.
I am not seeing anything RHEV-H specific here, moving this to network.
The way we are going to fix this is to give a more clear error on this and request to make configuration after the host is added to engine.
Sorry, but a year has passed, in which adding RHEV-H to RHEV-M has been tested multiple of times. Please open a new bug if a similar problem occurs with RHEV-H 3.6 or new-generation-node.
