Created attachment 1019099 [details] Screenshot Description of problem: The positioning and sizing of right click menus and the Firefox menu is completely incorrect (see screenshot). This is on a HiDPI (2880x1800) screen, with layout.css.devPixelsPerPx set to 2. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): firefox-37.0.2-2.fc22.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click anywhere on the page, preferably on the bottom. 2. 3. Actual results: See screenshot. Expected results: A properly positioned and sized popup menu, with all options visible. Additional info: Rightclicking towards the top left corner of the window works fine, except that it looks like the popup is capped to a 1440x900 subset of the window. Rightclicking outside this area gives random results, but usually more and more compressed towards the bottom of the screen. The Firefox menu and entry completion popups are affected too. This is with the GNOME theme, but it happens with the default theme as well.
I can confirm everything in the original report -- in my case it's on a 4K desktop monitor (3840x2160), with Gnome 3.14 or 3.16 set to HiDPI mode (org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor set to 2) and Firefox using layout.css.devPixelsPerPx set to 2, as above. My right-click menu is somehow even worse than the screenshot, with a scroll-up button, a scroll-down button, and no room for anything in between. It's unusable. The location bar and search bar drop-downs are usable and seem to be the right size, but they show up in the wrong place.

Created attachment 1019867 [details] Screenshot of menu of wrong size in wrong place I'm having similar symptoms in Preferences pull-downs and the pop-up that is the main Firefox menu. (Attaching screenshots of both.) This makes some of the preferences nearly unusable. (The only workaround is to hover and use the keyboard to scroll blindly.)
Drag-and-drop of bookmarks on the toolbar is also affected; the popup you get when you hover in preparation for dropping is malformed.
Same problem here, on an X1 carbon with a 2560x1440 display. FWIW, changing layout.css.devPixelsPerPx appears to have no effect.
Please test 38.0.1.

Followup comment: this fixes the positioning problems, but the sizing of right-click context menus (attachment 1019099 [details]) still appears to be an issue. (The longer the browser remains running, context menus will shrink vertically, first adding scroll widgets to the top and bottom, and eventually shrinking down to a single-pixel bar with a pair of scroll widgets.) I haven't figured out what's actually triggering the shrinking yet, but it's an inevitable march toward the context menus being unusable.
I haven't seen the comment 8 effect yet, but I just upgraded moments ago and otherwise this is looking good.
This is completely fixed for me in firefox-38.0.1-1.fc22.x86_64. Ed, I think you may be testing the wrong version? Your back/forward icons look different than mine.
