Proposed as a Blocker for 22-final by Fedora user bcl using the blocker tracking app because: ssh and scp are currently missing due to openssh-clients not being explicitly installed by lorax. It used to be pulled in as a requirement of another package, which has now changed.
lorax-22.11-1.fc22 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 22. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/lorax-22.11-1.fc22
Package lorax-22.11-1.fc22: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 22 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing lorax-22.11-1.fc22' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-7922/lorax-22.11-1.fc22 then log in and leave karma (feedback).
Why is this being requested as a blocker bug? Furthermore, why is this being addressed in Lorax? The presence or absence of openssh-clients on a particular installation seems like it should be dealt with in the kickstart files for those images. Unless of course this is affecting the ability to generate the images at all, in which case that would be useful information to have in this ticket.
"Why is this being requested as a blocker bug? Furthermore, why is this being addressed in Lorax? The presence or absence of openssh-clients on a particular installation..." because it's not about the installation, but about the installer environment. scp is missing *from the installer environment* on the traditional installer images for the last few builds. We inadvertently left this out of blocker review this morning - sorry. So, I'll vote here: -1 blocker (it doesn't violate any criteria, and it's more an inconvenience than anything else - there are viable ways to get stuff out, USB sticks, 'fpaste', etc) but +1 FE (it *is* inconvenient, and easy to fix). Note TC3 was built with the updated lorax, so it should be in there.
-1/+1 for similar reasons - it's not critical but nice to have when triaging install issues
While I consider SSH to be a critical part of any Linux system, it is not necessarily a requirement for installation. I can think of at least one major distribution that does not include SSH by default, but that has no relevance to our goals. I don't consider this to be a blocker for release. An inconvenience, to be sure, but not a blocker. I will accept it as an FE to get into our release.
OK, with 3 votes, that's RejectedBlocker, AcceptedFreezeException.
lorax-22.11-1.fc22 has been pushed to the Fedora 22 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
