Description of problem: https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/358 produced a banner for Cockpit during installation that informs users about how to reach the administrative interface on their new server. It improves the discoverability of the feature and would be very nice to have. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fedora-productimg-server-22-8.fc22 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora Server 2. 3. Actual results: No advice is provided on how to access the Cockpit web interface. Expected results: The installer should advertise how to reach Cockpit. Additional info: This change is exceedingly low-risk; it requires only placing an additional SVG image file onto the install image.
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 22-final by Fedora user sgallagh using the blocker tracking app because: Adding a graphic to the installer process to clue people in on how to reach the Cockpit Administrative Interface would significantly improve ease-of-use for Fedora Server. This is a low-risk change; it only amounts to dropping an image file into a particular directory and Anaconda will pick it up and display it in the rotation.
If it was unclear above, I'm +1 on Freeze Exception, due to the extremely low risk of this change.
Discussed at the 2015-05-14 blocker review meeting.[1] Voted as AcceptedFreezeException - this would improve the Server user experience and cannot be fixed with an update [1] http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-blocker-review/2015-05-14
Clearing F22 accepted / nominated freeze exception status as F22 has shipped, per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping/Trackers . You may nominate as an Alpha, Beta or Final freeze exception for F23 if desired using the web application - https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/propose_bug (though it is not currently set up for F23) - or by marking the bug as blocking AlphaFreezeException, BetaFreezeException, or FinalFreezeException.
Actually, this one was committed in time for Final and I just forgot to attach the BZ to the errata.
