Description René Genz 2015-05-17 12:42:48 UTC
Description of problem:
A small typo in
/etc/X11/xinit/Xsession

obsolete

I am undecided, whether some words should be added after "#142260" to spell out the bug tracker. Like "See bug #142260 in RedHat Bugzilla for ..." or similar.

And 'Failsafe' session at SDDM display manager screen does not work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-xinit-1.3.4-8.fc22.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf group install -y workstation-product-environment
2. dnf install -y sddm
3. systemctl enable --force sddm.service && reboot
4. select 'Failsafe' in upper right hand corner and try to log in

Actual results:
Something seems to be loaded but fails and screen falls back to display manager screen.

Expected results:
Start of a failsafe session.
Or remove the failsafe item from the drop down list.

Additional info:
According to
/var/log/sddm.log
--
[12:44:15.543] (II) HELPER: Starting: "/etc/X11/xinit/Xsession" "failsafe"
--
/etc/X11/xinit/Xsession
tries to load xterm.
But xterm is not installed by default.
If xterm package is installed, failsafe session works.

Due to different packages I split up the report. The other report about the broken failsafe session is #1222297
