There is no way to deploy overcloud with network that has VLANs.
There should be support for VLANs when deploying overcloud with neutron.

This should be retested against the poodle. I see these are centos packages. Is this a pxe issue, please provide much more detail.

Comment 6 Ofer Blaut 2015-05-20 17:50:06 UTC
Hi Chris

There are two items relate to VLAN

1. Tenant isolation ( which is only GRE/VXLAN)
2. Ability to use public network or GRE on VLAN based interfaces

Thanks

Ofer

Hi,
I am using RHEL 7.1.
The installation were done according to the documentation.

Those packages are coming from delorean.
By following the internal installation guide we have mixed repos.
That's normal.

Pls,specify what additional info do you need.

Thanks,
L.

VLAN in overcloud is not yet supported, please hold on testing that aspect until the new network configuration that Dan Sneddon/Dan Prince is working on lands (sometime at the beginning of next week).

I need some more information here to know if the changes that Dan Prince and I are doing are going to address this issue.

If the issue is that Leonid is trying to deploy Neutron in VLAN-mode for tenant networks, that will not be addressed by the network configuration code that we are developing.

If the issue is that Leonid is trying to separate out the tenant/storage/control traffic onto different VLANs, that will be addressed by the forthcoming network configuration code.

Leonid,

Can you clarify whether you are trying to deploy Neutron in VLAN-mode for tenant networking?

If you are instead trying to separate the tenant traffic from the storage traffic and the controller traffic, that is addressed in a new patchset that is under development.

Thanks for providing more info.

Dan,
We were trying to set external network with VLAN (seems like option 2)
but in general we need both options to be supported.
