Description of problem: Attempting to publish pictures on Facebook failed when creating a new album. Also user will be unable to reuse the existing album as the option is gray out. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.22.0 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select photos to publish 2. Login on Facebook account 3. Try to publish Actual results: Unable to publish photos on Facebook. In addition, existing album selections are disabled. Expected results: Selected pictures arre published. Additional info: The issue appears to be upstream problem due to Facebook changing way to authenticate. See https://bug748991.bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=303861
All distributions using version 0.22.0 are affected. I attached a Launchpad report for tracking.
Checking Facebook App Center setting confirmed the problem with the following message: Misconfigured App Sorry, Shotwell Connect hasn't been approved for display in App Center. Upstream will need approval from Facebook to allow users publishing their photos.
There have been some security issues found, most notably when the TLS certificates were not being validated when publishing to Facebook. I set up a dependency tree for the bug in the GNOME bugzilla so that it will be easy for a developer to fix the source code. In the meantime, I suggest disabling the Facebook plugin as suggested in the GNOME bugzilla.
According to the GNOME bugzilla report, the bug was recently set to fixed. The fix has not been put in a release of shotwell, but has been pushed into the GNOME github.

When I publish on Facebook with public sharing, the picture gets uploaded, but is marked as "Only Me" sharing. One workaround for now is to change the privacy settings of uploaded albums manually on Facebook. This has been reported on the GNOME Bugzilla as a separate bug report. The testing was done on FC 23. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=766919

I am not sure what happened, but it works fine now. To make sure there were no bugs, I had shotwell forget my Facebook credentials and I also removed its privileges to make sure the reported issue is not an issue. Looks like a misconfiguration by me occured while publishing the image.
