Description edward 2015-05-28 00:42:17 UTC
Description of problem:

Adding IMAP accounts to Claws Mail, they correctly appear at the left side of the window. Then added a POP3 account and this does not appear at the left.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

3.11.1

How reproducible:

Add IMAP account, it appears. Add POP3 account, it does not appear.

Actual results:

POP3 account did not appear on the left side of the window.

Expected results:

The POP3 account should have been listed along with the other IMAP accounts.

Additional info:

> POP3 account did not appear on the left side of the window.

The left side of the window is the mailbox list, not the accounts list.

Emails retrieved from POP3 or Local accounts are stored within the local MH mailbox tree. For each POP3 account you may choose a different default folder than "inbox".

I will clarify. On the left side - mailbox list, only the IMAP account folders are displayed, the MH mailbox tree is not.

If an email comes in for the POP3 account, there is no way to open or access it.

Sorry for the duplicate comment (Comment 3). Not sure what happened.

Comment 5 Michael Schwendt 2015-05-28 14:51:00 UTC
Then be more verbose, please. Mention details about your system. The hardware architecture. The exact package version of claws-mail. Attach a screenshot. Attach the *rc files from claws-mail. Do older package releases work for you? You're not the only Claws Mail user with Fedora 21.

Also do some trouble-shooting:

1) remove $HOME/.claws-mail directory
2) remove $HOME/Mail directory
3) restart claws-mail
4) answer the first-start wizard's question
5) what do you get?

Attachment 1031446 [details] (clawsscreen1.png). Shows the three IMAP accounts on the left, account1, account2 and account3. At the lower right corner of the screen, the account list also has account4, this is the POP3 account.

Attachment 1031447 [details] (clawsscreen2.png). Shows the screen after the steps outlined in Comment 5 were taken and only the POP3 account was added. "Mailbox (MH)" was then successfully created.

Architecture: x86_64
Claws Mail version: 3.11.1

Comment 9 Michael Schwendt 2015-05-28 21:55:26 UTC
The screenshots look like you're running the MATE Desktop. That's a detail you've not mentioned before yet.

> Mailbox (MH)" was then successfully created.

So, the problem is not reproducible for you then either.

Comment 10 edward 2015-05-28 23:51:19 UTC
As long as the POP3 account is added first, before any other accounts, then yes, it's fine.

Adding IMAP first, then the Mailbox MH doesn't appear (create).

Yes, I was using the MATE desktop when I took the screenshots.

> Adding IMAP first, then the Mailbox MH doesn't appear (create).

I cannot reproduce that. How often did you retry it? Deleting accounts and adding them again did not work either? And does it happen for you also in GNOME?

It would be much more appropriate to take this topic to Claws Mail users@ list:
