I have created a liveusb using fedora 22 and have an encrypted home partition. When booting from the liveusb, the passphrase box disappears quickly before I can enter the password. The image is created with livecd-iso-to-disk which by default encrypts a home partition. Repeating the process again and pressing ESC it looks like it gets stuck at plymouth. The same issue happened with Fedora 21 and there is bug report 1109500 with no solution. I am thinking of upgrading my current system with Fedora 20 with an encrypted partition but I can't do that unless this issue is resolved.
Ditto. I am seeing this on my Lenevo W541 with a F22 KDE Spin with all updates applied (as of today). Pressing escape does give me the prompt to enter the password but its rather non-intuitive and not good as prior Fedora versions.
Unfortunately, this is not an option if you try to boot from a usb with an encrypted partition as it just goes past the point when you can enter the passphrase and then gets stuck starting plymouth. If I can just get the prompt, graphical or not, that would be a good step.
Well, for me, I've figured out why I wasn't getting a graphical boot - it appears the nouveau driver does not play well with it. Blacklisting nouveau by adding 'rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau' to /etc/sysconfig/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX (and regenerating via grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg) plus blacklisting in /etc/modprobe.d/nouveau.conf via 'blacklist nouveau' fixed it for me.

The problem is not graphical boot for me. The problem is that it doesn't ask for the passphrase for the encrypted partition.
This may be the same bug as Bug 1238881.
It is different. The problem I was having is when I boot of a usb I don't get the option to enter the passphrase. I was using livecd-iso-to-disk. I was trying to create a fedora 22 live usb. My system was running fedora 20. I have just upgraded to fedora 22 and tried again to create a live usb with encrypted home partition and this time booting off of the usb worked and I was prompted to enter the passphrase. I am still not sure what was the cause of the problem. But for now it seems to be fixed.
