Include references to Config/SmartProxies page (please doublecheck)

Comment 3 Deon Ballard 2015-08-18 00:16:24 UTC
Side note, this is also mentioned in KCS articles:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1540963

This needs to be fixed in the docs to clarify this for customers.

Assigning to Shikha for review.

Shikha - I believe you have already been working on this in a separate bug. Can you take a look at the above and see if there are any gaps with the work you have already done?

1) 5.2 Deployment_Planning_Guide: Review Table 1 which refers to "CFME SmartProxy installed on Windows or Linux" (which should be ESX server instead?)
2) 5.2 Installing CloudForms on RHEL-OSP: Same issue
3) 5.2 Installing CloudForms on RHEV: Same issue
4) 5.2 Installing CloudForms on VMware: Same issue
5) 5.2 Application Hardening Guide: Same issue
6) 5.2 Settings and Operations Guide: Section 4.1.4.3: Review 'To provide visibility to repositories, install the SmartProxy on a host from the CloudForms Management Engine console.'
7) 5.2 Settings and Operations Guide: Table 4.1 - is this table necessary?
8) 5.2 Settings and Operations Guide: Chapter 5 Review "To provide visibility to repositories, install the SmartProxy on a host from the console. This SmartProxy can also analyze virtual machines on the host on which it is installed."
9) 5.2 Settings and Operations Guide: Review Section 5.2 which appears to refer to host-based SmartProxy

Hi Thom,
Thank you for the feedback. Since SmartProxy has not been completely deprecated, we have reviewed all SmartProxy instances and removed all the obsolete content from 3.2 and 4.0 books.

All the suggested changes can be viewed in this gitlab commit:
https://gitlab.cee.redhat.com/rhci-documentation/docs-Red_Hat_CloudForms/commit/c3735e87fc3675bab9c6769ed267dbf7c959d9ac

The updated content is available on access.redhat.com for CFME 3.2:
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_CloudForms/3.2/

If you are happy with the changes, I would like to close this bug for CFME 3.2 and further changes to SmartProxy in CFME 4.0 will be dealt in a separate bug.

Regards,
Shikha
