Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description sthirugn@redhat.com 2015-05-29 17:12:58 UTC
Description of problem:
Incremental update task should always finish 100% otherwise it blocks future incremental updates

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Satellite 6.1 GA Snap 6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install an incremental update on two content hosts (one of the content hosts had goferd stopped)
2. 'Incremental update' task is created
3. Two sub tasks 'Install Applicable Errata' are created - One of the tasks completed fine and the other had State = stopped, Result = warning. (expected)

Actual results:
The incremental update paused at 87% with error. This prevents doing incremental update on any other errata until it is fixed.

Expected results:
The incremental update task should always complete at 100% irrespective of its sub tasks.

Additional info:
This bug is created for 'Incremental Update' task to find and log all possible errors and show its status as 100%. One known scenario is already logged in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1226410. But there may be other scenarios which need to be addressed in this bug to prevent future 'Incremental Update' being blocked.

Comment 4 Brad Buckingham 2015-06-05 15:32:02 UTC
Based on triage discussion, this should be addressed by the fix for bug 1226410.

Comment 7 sthirugn@redhat.com 2015-06-16 15:38:44 UTC
Verified in Sat 6.1 GA Snap 8.

Now the 'Incremental Update' task completes with State=stopped, Result=warning statuses.
