Description of problem: Trying to search anything (CTRL-F) from Dolphin does not output any result. How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Search in Dolphin (CTRL-F) 2. Type some word or file name Actual results: Nothing happens. Expected results: List of found files. Additional info: In the command line : - "baloosearch <word>" does work and find files - "balooctl status" shows that all files were indexed and that everything is OK
Note that search within krunner does also work. So the issue is really specific to Dolphin.
The problem was solved after I erased all my .config folder and re-opened a KDE session with a clean state. Probably a strange issue with old cache or settings.
For me it does not worked. I had filed a similar bug in KDE Bugzilla where devs told me that it could be a packaging issue. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349393
Yes, I am actually still having the issue. The fact is that searches launched from within your home folder do not work. Strangely, just move Dolphin to another folder, like /, and then from there start the search : it should work !
Here is the corresponding upstream bug report : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347916

Confirmed Thu Jul 9 09:25:55 PDT 2015, Fedora release 21 (Twenty One). But until upstream fixes this, note that searches from one level above $HOME such as '/home' instead of '/' run much faster, at least in the case of file content searches. And much, much faster faster than a grep from $HOME.
