Description Ali Akcaagac 2015-05-31 21:13:38 UTC
I am not sure whether this component is the right place to report the following issues. After installing Fedora 22 Netinstall (Workstation), I found out that there are a bunch of missing group entries for files and folders. This is a basic install. Nothing has been added, altered etc. The installation happened in VirtualBox.

/var/lib/nfs:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 31 00:00 etab
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 31 00:00 rmtab
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 31 00:00 rpc_pipefs
drwx------ 4 29 29 4096 May 31 00:00 statd
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 May 31 00:00 v4recovery
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 31 00:00 xtab

/var/lib/nfs/statd:
drwx------ 2 29 29 4096 May 31 00:00 sm
drwx------ 2 29 29 4096 May 31 00:00 sm.bak
-rw-r--r-- 1 29 29 0 May 31 00:00 state

29 ? 29 what ? There is no entry for 29 in any /etc/groups file.

Another one:

//var/spool/mail:
-rw-rw---- 1 aakcaagac mail 0 May 31 00:00 aakcaagac
-rw-rw---- 1 32 mail 0 May 31 00:00 rpc

32 what ?

I tried restoring the entire uid/gid and permissions by running

rpm --setperms `rpm --query --all | grep --ignore-case --invert-match "^gpg-pubkey" | sort`

and

rpm --setugids `rpm --query --all | grep --ignore-case --invert-match "^gpg-pubkey" | sort`

No success, which is not wondering, because it's missing in the groups at all.

[root@localhost /]# rpm -q nfs-utils
nfs-utils-1.3.2-4.fc22.i686
[root@localhost /]#

I am really wondering, how this package got installed without processing the POST* scripts. it might be a bug within the installer of the Workstation or Netinstall CD.
