Description Dimitri Maziuk 2015-06-08 21:17:29 UTC
I don't see it in "yum ls" even with "--enablerepo=epel-testing". Could it be built for el7 please?

TIA

Comment 1 Tim Fenn 2015-06-09 03:44:43 UTC
2 of the pymol deps, python-numeric and chemical-mime-data are not available for EL7, unfortunately. I'll see if I can drum up the maintainers to provide builds.

Comment 2 merlin_647 2015-06-27 01:49:17 UTC
Isn't python-numeric replaced by numpy for EL7?

Comment 3 Dimitri Maziuk 2016-02-17 00:09:50 UTC
At this point I'll have to call BS on this one: pymol from sourceforge builds just fine and, at least for my scripted image generation needs, works just fine. So whatever the reason is for not building it, I'm not buying the #1.

I guess we'll have to switch to kubuntu lts at some point...

pymol runs just fine on Fedora 28, even though python-numeric is not available or installed (numpy is). chemical-mime-data is installed. It would be nice if you could try a little harder.

And that's relevant to centos/rhel/sl 7 builds how?

Since Fedora 28 is quite new, it tells me that someone is still supporting pymol.

Antonio, could we also get PyMOL for EPEL? Ideally both 8 and 7, but just 8 would already be awesome.

Too much missing dependencies anyway on runtime.
I can't build pymol on EPEL.

I created a Copr project if you need PyMOL for CentOS 8:
