For my understanding, spice is a supported protocol for Windows Server 2012 and Windows8, but not for Windows server 2012 R2 or Win8.1. This is based on: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/294843 And so our 3.5 Installation Guide says: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.5/html/Installation_Guide/sect-SPICE_Client.html However looking here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.5/html/User_Guide/sect-Explanation_of_Settings_and_Controls_in_the_New_Virtual_Machine_and_Edit_Virtual_Machine_Windows.html#Virtual_Machine_Console_settings_explained It still says not to use spice for those supported OSs. Should be fixed and adjusted to the supported OSs in all our guides.
Hi Marina, Spice support for Windows 8 and 2012 without QXL drivers is documented in the 3.5.3 Technical Notes already. [1] However, I can add it to the Administration or User Guide as a Tech Preview feature. The docs team has not started on 3.6 content yet. 3.6-specific content will be updated when we enter 3.6 development cycle.
