Thanks for the report! I just pushed https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-software/commit/?id=74f87252b9a6379bc75ac558921ee1c30ef67a89 upstream which should fix up the crash. I just tried Chrome desktop bookmarks here for the first and they don't look good at all in gnome-software. Definitely more fixes needed in that area.
