Description nvwarr 2015-06-16 13:25:13 UTC
Description of problem:

with some desktop environments (I'm using fvwm2), clicking on the arrow for "Font color" briefly flashes up a shadow of a window for a fraction of a second, but does not leave anything usable. Consequently it is not possible to change the colour. The same is true for highlighting and background color. I saw this in libreoffice-writer, but I didn't check other components. I couldn't reproduce the problem with a gnome classic environment, but supposedly kde environments can also have the same problem (see the link below, which also gives a fix).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
libreoffice-writer-4.4.3.2-6.fc22.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a document with libreoffice writer
2. click on the downwards-pointing arrow for the font color dialog

Actual results:

get a couple of things flash very briefly, but no color dialog window

Expected results:

color dialog window should be popped up

Additional info:

this was fine in Fedora 21 but not in Fedora 22.

It seems this has already been reported elsewhere:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86198&redirected_from=fdo

I can confirm that editing:

/usr/lib64/libreoffice/share/config/soffice.cfg/svx/ui/colorwindow.ui

and changing the property "visible" in class "GtkWindow" to False fixes the problem for me.

I think (hope) I fixed this with http://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90155 which will be in 4.4.4
