+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #789194 +++ Description of problem: I do not know if it is a bug, but Evince and ePDfviewer do not display LibreOffice comments. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Name : poppler Arch : i686 Version : 0.16.7 Release : 1.fc15 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a document with LibreOffice writer with comments 2. Export to PDF with the comments 3. Actual results: The comments are not displayed, there is a comment gray icon instead. Expected results: The comments are displayed Additional info: I first thought is was related to Evince, but ePDFviewer also relies on poppler. --- Additional comment from nomnex on 2012-02-09 22:32:26 EST --- --- Additional comment from Fedora End Of Life on 2012-08-07 13:25:07 EDT --- This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
Confirmed with: Fedora 22 libreoffice-writer-4.3.7.2-6.fc21.x86_64 poppler-0.26.2-9.fc21.x86_64 evince-3.14.2-2.fc21.x86_64 How to reproduce: - create a new libreoffice writer document - insert a comment (Insert -> Comment) - export as a PDF with comments (File -> Export as PDF...) (don't forget to tick "Export comments") - open the resulting PDF with evince All you get is a blank page with a gray icon, with no comment visible.
Sorry mistook the release, this machine is of course running Fedora 21 (not 22). I will test on Fedora 22 tonight.
I've tested this with F22 and it doesn't work there too but it works in F23 now. A fix for this was committed 1 month ago upstream. I've backported the fix to F21 and F22. The problem was that width of the area specified in "/Rect" field of the annotation was too small (e.g. /Rect [ 149.7 97.3 149.8 185.1 ]). The fix sets size of the rectangle to 24x24 by default (which is probably the same behaviour as in acroread so I'm not escalating this to LibreOffice).
