RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2015:2216 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE gnome compositor stack bug fix and enhancement update 2015-11-19 08:26:34 UTC

Description Vladimir Benes 2015-06-29 20:55:19 UTC
Description of problem:
I was able to search one by one items in any super menu (nautilus, boxes, whatever) now I am not able to do so. Focus jumps two items down and overall keyboard behaviour is weird.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gtk3-3.14.13-8.el7.x86_64
gnome-shell-3.14.4-9.el7.x86_64
mutter-3.14.4-2.el7.x86_64
clutter-1.20.0-3.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open nautilus
2.go into top panel super menu (via super+f10)
3.use keyboard for navigation in the menu

Actual results:
no reasonable usage

Expected results:
should be going down/up one by one

Additional info:

Comment 1 Vladimir Benes 2015-06-29 21:11:40 UTC
It seems to happen only in vnc environment. I've started gdm service, x11vnc and vncviewer and then jumped into the session and it seems to be misbehaving. I cannot see this in normal session.

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2015-07-16 16:23:10 UTC
Pretty broken. We clearly have to fix this.

It affects all keynav in the shell, not just the app menu

Comment 3 Matthias Clasen 2015-07-16 16:25:23 UTC
Affects both classic and modern gnome

Comment 5 Florian Müllner 2015-07-17 21:41:08 UTC
Turned out that clutter was still built with the gobject-introspection version from RHEL 7.1 - clutter-1.20.0-4.el7 was built against the correct version and fixes this issue.

Comment 6 Martin Simon 2015-09-14 11:14:08 UTC
I've retested this with gtk3-3.14.13-13.el7.x86_64, gnome-shell-3.14.4-26.el7.x86_64, mutter-3.14.4-11.el7.x86_64 and clutter-1.20.0-4.el7.x86_64 on both vnc and normal local session and I'm able to navigate correctly with keyboard in gnome-shell. According my verification and comment 5 it seems to be fixed
