RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2015:2284 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE anaconda bug fix and enhancement update 2015-11-19 09:44:49 UTC

Description Eric Paris 2015-07-02 16:00:31 UTC
Using a boot.iso (nightly 6/30)
do not start the network
click the 'Installation Source'
add base repo
Click done
Get generic notice under 'Installation Source' there was a problem
Click back into 'Installation Source'
No useful error message

Similar: using a boot.iso (nightly 6/30)
start the network
click the 'Installation Source'
leave the base repo blank (whoops)
add what you meant to be a base repo into the 'additional repositories'
click done
Get generic notice under 'Installation Source' there was a problem
Click back into 'Installation Source'
No useful error message

I would like some useful error message (as was the case in 7.1)

Comment 1 David Shea 2015-07-02 16:16:44 UTC
30036a04f72da85ba38eb6c4690d078f0c22c27d from master gets us part of the way there but there message still doesn't show up right away.

Comment 3 Eric Paris 2015-07-02 16:19:41 UTC
adding the regression keyword since there were at least some error messages (network one at minimum) in 7.1

Comment 5 David Shea 2015-07-02 16:57:51 UTC
In addition to the bug fixed in the commit in comment 1, the status is being cleared by an over-zealous call to clear_info by one of the input checks. I'm honestly not sure why the same thing isn't happening in Fedora.
