Dan/Greg,

I was not able to recreate this issue locally and can't find out where "preparing_for_maintenance" power state is getting set for a Host record, however i noticed that ESX host summary screen has "Enter Maintenance Mode" & "Exit Maintenance Mode" buttons, perhaps those buttons are putting Host into a power state with value "preparing_for_maintenance".

Let me know if you need more info on those buttons.

Thanks,
~Harpreet

Thank you, I saw this icon and it is not sufficient, Eldan is working on a new one already.

Comment 13 Matouš Mojžíš 2016-05-30 12:30:31 UTC
Verified in: 5.6.0.8.
I had to change power state for host in vmdb manually by doing:"UPDATE hosts SET power_state = 'preparing_for_maintenance' WHERE id = 1;"
Then I was able to see icon for preparing_for_maintenance in both hosts list and host details.
