Description of problem: gnome-shell-extension-pidgin isn't marked as suggested for installation or dependency when installing Pidgin, despite being such. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.18.gitfb9dbfd.fc22 How reproducible: Install Pidgin using either Software or dnf, expect it to install all reasonable dependencies and recommendations along with it. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: gnome-shell-extension-pidgin isn't installed along with it. Expected results: gnome-shell-extension-pidgin is installed along with pidgin. Additional info: There were some bug reports about it not working properly in earlier version of the shell, but with current one, it correctly adds a search provider for Pidgin buddies and makes Pidgin's notifications look more native in Shell.
If the pidgin maintainer wants to add "Suggests: gnome-shell-extension-pidgin", well, that's their choice, but since pidgin is perfectly useful without GNOME, I doubt they'll do it. Either way, this is on pidgin, not on gnome-shell-extension-pidgin.
As stated in comment 1, pidgin is not bound to gnome.
