I wrote a new upstream test "meaningful-logs" [1] and the test revealed that the attached patch is not yet included in dist-git (nor cherry-picked to rhel7 upstream branch). The test also showed me that if "type" file does not exist, abrtd prints out 10 "Can't open file 'type': No such file or directory" lines. Hence, I pushed the following upstream patch which needs to be backported to rhel7 too:
