We'd need docs text here. Who would be the person to describe this feature? Since I don't feel being able to provide a proper doc text here, who would be the person to provide documentation? (In reply to Matthias Runge from comment #13) > Since I don't feel being able to provide a proper doc text here, who would > be the person to provide documentation? Hi Matthias, I think we just need a general statement that the Manila UI was converted to a Horizon plugin in the Kilo release (https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Manila/docs/HOWTO_use_manila_with_horizon / https://github.com/openstack/manila-ui) And now included in the distribution. Adding Justin to comment on deployment aspects, Sean Currently, with a Packstack-based installation of OpenStack and Manila, you need to install the Manila-UI package after the installation is complete and I think you also have to restart the httpd service for it to pick up the changes. One of the things we will need to address with the installation though OSP-D will be to allow the installation of the Manila UI plugin into Horizon with minimal interaction (e.g. a field in a configuration file). unfortunately, there is NO WAY to change the config file based on a package installed or not. Manually restarting httpd after installation is fine. Tested on RHOS 7.2 (z3) with packstack ====================================== CONFIG_MANILA_INSTALL=y The following packages installed python-manila-2015.1.0-2.el7ost.noarch openstack-manila-share-2015.1.0-2.el7ost.noarch openstack-manila-2015.1.0-2.el7ost.noarch python-manilaclient-1.1.0-1.el7ost.noarch manually run: yum install -y openstack-manila-ui The following package installed openstack-manila-ui-1.0.1-1.el7ost.noarch Dustin, please approve this verification or add your comment Hey Ido, I was able to get the Manila UI installed and running in my own RHOS 7.2 (z3) environment and it looks good. If I may, I'd like to poke around with it a little bit with a non-generic backend and see if I can do the usual suite of operations. I'd prefer to give my okay after playing with it a bit rather than having to open a new bug later. Let me know if you have any questions! Looks good to me! I was able to play around with it a bit and it seems to work in the ways it's supposed to. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
