Description ytrezq 2015-07-17 20:29:26 UTC
Description of problem:

I was using Fedora 15 and it appears I can longer use Internet outside cities with the kde live cd *(my phone doesn’t have ᴡi‑ꜰi and use a GPRS not 3G)*.
The phone only support DUN not PAN. In Fedora 15 I could pair the device and then a window popped up asking me if I want to use DUN connection for internet.

The main advantage is it shows a provider list for filling the parameters automatically.

Now I can only pair it and transfer/browse files as nothing happens after pairing it.

Expected results:

There should be a way to use bluedevil for bluetooth tethering. but even the network manager plasmoid reports nothing.

Additional info:

the bluedevil binaries which were responsible for the other functionalities are missing (/usr/bin/bluedevil-network-dun /usr/bin/bluedevil-audio /usr/bin/bluedevil-network-panu)

I know they were a similar bug in which made the bluedevil tether application not working *(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323931)* but it is now fixed. I don’t know if fedora choose to remove tethering support in ᴋᴅᴇ because of this but please bring it back if it is the case.

This was called mobile “broadband” by networkmanager some releases ago.

I suspect this is a dup of bug #1227424

where the ModemManager service isn't starting properly

No because starting ModemManager manually before running startx doesn’t solve the problem.
