Description Markus S. 2015-07-19 02:15:01 UTC
Description of problem:
I tried other task switchers. After switching back to the Breeze task switcher, it no longer shows.

Funny thing: The preview works.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
5.3.2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. KDE System Settings -> Window Management -> Task Switchers
2. Select another task switcher -> Apply.
3. Select Breeze again -> Apply.
4. Cycle through windows.

Actual results:
Error message: "The Window Switcher installation is broken, resources are missing. Contact your distribution about this."

Expected results:
Not that, obviously. ;-)

Additional info:
There is also a "Fedora Twenty Two" task switcher in that list. Same result. The others work. I don't have any KWin tabbox theme names "Fedora" installed. Not sure how that list gets populated. No Breeze or Fedora folder is in /usr/share/kwin/tabbox/

I don't know if this will help or not. But I'm running Kubuntu 15.04 64bit, after doing an update that had over 100 updates, I saw this message for the first time. I didn't think much of it, I could still switch windows with ALT+Tab just fine. Just didn't get the visual list of available windows.

I wish I had some magic fix for you, but I simply rebooted and all was well again. Switching between different task switchers works fine and I get no errors now. Again, I know this isn't very useful or relevant information, but it's so simple to try I thought I should at least let someone know.

After a fresh installation of Fedora 24 I saw this error message the first time. Have not seen this with Fedora 22 and 23.

Seems to work fine but its annoying to see this error quite often, its distracting...

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2016-07-19 19:15:25 UTC
Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.
