Description of problem: I can't log in promptly with a second account if a first try provided the wrong password. Please excuse me for the long and complicated title. This is more like cosmetic issue highlighted by some exploratory testing (that's why I marked 'severity' as 'low'), but in my opinion that it might be nice to have it fixed before Fedora 23 reaches the light. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gdm-3.17.3.1-1.fc23.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Clean boot Fedora 23. It should be a system which contains at least two user accounts (say, USER1 and USER2) 2. Try to log in as USER1, intentionally entering the wrong password. 3. Observe that gdm correctly warns the user about the error. 4. Press exit to return to the account selection stage. 5. Select USER2's account. Actual results: 1. gdm displays "Authentication Error" under the password's text field. 2. gdm returns to the account selection stage. 3. A second try results in a successfully login Expected results: 1. Since it wasn't provide any password for USER2, gdm should not force the user to re-select the account one more time. 2. gdm should offer the opportunity to log in with a first attempt. Additional info: I'm testing Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-23-20150717.iso inside a qemu-kvm guest.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '23'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
