RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

When use virt-viewer with option "--wait" connecting to a shutdown guest, then stop libvirtd service on host, error message "Unable to connect to libvirt with URI: [none]" pop up continuously though i click "OK" button.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Comment 2 Fabiano Fidêncio 2015-07-23 15:24:16 UTC
This problem is already fixed by the following upstream patches:

1bcd8d0fe6df553f087d11b539a59e128a2a350b
526e882368eb74eb1ed9de5c1c8aefb7b428fb9d
1a619f23835abcc358b84bcead14171361907038
66afac53b6769f079d537cfa130f212286981c93

The expected result is a bit different but I do believe it makes more sense then the proposed one. The result with the patches applied will be no error message at all (only the status messages being changed) and some more info in the debug log.

Comment 8 zhoujunqin 2015-08-10 03:57:14 UTC
Try to verify this bug with new build:
virt-viewer-2.0-6.el7.x86_64
libvirt-1.2.17-3.el7.x86_64

Steps:
1. Use virt-viewer connect to a shutdown guest.
# virsh domstate rhel6.6
shut off

# virt-viewer rhel6.6 --wait

2. Stop libvirtd service on host.
# service libvirtd stop

3. Start libvirtd service on host again.
# service libvirtd start

Result now:
Step1 outputs: You can see "Waiting for guest domain to start" in virt-viewer terminal.

Step2 outputs: You can see "Waiting for libvirt to start" in virt-viewer terminal.
There is no error dialogue "Unable to connect to libvirt with URI: [none]" pop up any more

Step3 outputs: You can see "Waiting for guest domain to start" in virt-viewer terminal.

And according to Comment 2, move this bug from ON_QA to VERIFIED.
