Description of problem: I am not able to use USB tethering between my Android 5.1.1 phone and my laptop. Plasma-nm does not show the USB tethering connection. Command # ip addr shows the USB tethering connection interface. I tested this yesterday and it worked until NetworkManager showed my connected phone as a modem. Try to create a new ethernet connection and restrict it to your phone.

We should bring back the old fashioned way of using USB tethering, like in Plasma 4, where you simply plugged an USB and selected the new modem connection that appeared
Problem is that plasma-nm in Plasma 5 doesn't behave differently than the one in KDE 4. I'm sure that NM or plasma-nm don't create any modem (gsm or cdma) connection automatically so you had to probably create it manually yourself. If you mean an ethernet connection then it's possible that NM created it automatically but probably stopped doing that or I don't know.
