Description Alex 2015-08-04 08:14:13 UTC
Whenever the Desktop is set to Folder view, and the option to show the desktop folder is active, one can not write files, for example text files that are on the desktop. The star (*) marking a changed document does not disappear when clicking the save button. Whenever you close the editor, a message appears that prompts you to save the changes, but fails. Tested editors are kate and kwrite.

When one sets the folder view to display a custom folder, and uses the desktop folder for display, everything works as intended.

The bug could be reproduced on 2 Fedora 22 KDE spin machines that are fully updated, one of them was updated from Fedora 21, the other one was a fresh install. A crosscheck with kubuntu 15.04 did not show the issue, therefore the bug seems to be in fedora, not in the plasma 5 desktop itself.

Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
