Description Leslie Satenstein 2015-08-11 21:15:41 UTC
Description of problem:
There are two problems

The informational message about /tmp having the logs and the
gui settings at the base of anaconda (configuration screen) scrolls off the screen before one has the chance to read it.

The message should have a few seconds delay before being scrolled away.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-23_Alpha_TC2.iso

How reproducible:

Perform installation of

Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-23_Alpha_TC2.iso

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Need time to read more than the first line of terminal text.

Additional info:

Anaconda for F21 had the bottom panel with some guidance to use f1 for logs, f2 for terminal mode, etc. This is gone (not on the configuration screen) which shows installation progress.

You have something wrong with your configuration. We're certainly not going to add delays to the startup.

Brian

I have a dual core pentium system. Its not the fastest system. Even so, I defy you to read the 6 or 8 lines of text on the terminal screen, during anaconda startup. It scrolls by too fast. Can you can complete the reading of the first line? I bet not, that message scrolls by too quickly , I bet the remaining lines are a blur and you could not tell me what is on them

Don't just flatly refuse, do the test yourself.

If you can read all those 8 or how many lines, will I will be delighted to pay you a coffee.

If you say you can't or wont add a one or two second sleep command, then at least restore the panel at the base of anaconda that described what f1 through f4 are there for. That panel was removed. There is nothing available to assist a Linux user if he/she runs into anaconda problems.

As the informational panel is omitted, the only way to know what to do is to have seen the message on the terminal I am a personwho has stoodfast used and am Fedora for the past 11 years. Have the missing panel restored to the GUI

Please advise where the advice of this message may be found.

Nothing has been removed, something with your screen setup is probably cutting it off.
