RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Martin Hoyer 2015-08-18 15:44:25 UTC
Description of problem:
During our regression tests on RHEL-7.2, we found out that there is a problem while running SCSI PERSISTENT RESERVE OUT command on iSCSI multipath device.

This issue was not present in RHEL-7.1

# sg_persist --out --register --param-sark=123abc /dev/mapper/mpatha
  LIO-ORG target1-tpg1-lu 4.0
  Peripheral device type: disk
PR out (Register): Not ready
Return:2

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.10.0-302.el7.x86_64
targetcli-2.1.fb41-2.el7.noarch
iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.873-32.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Establish iSCSI session with targetcli target
2. Run multipath on it
3. Run: sg_persist --out --register --param-sark=123abc /dev/mapper/mpathX

Actual results:
  LIO-ORG target1-tpg1-lu 4.0
  Peripheral device type: disk
PR out (Register): Not ready
Return:2

Expected results:
  LIO-ORG target1-tpg1-lu 4.0
  Peripheral device type: disk
Return:0

Comment 3 Andy Grover 2015-08-18 16:13:53 UTC
only happens with multipath?

Comment 4 Andy Grover 2015-08-18 17:43:01 UTC
Something to try: verify /var/target/pr/ directory exists, and if not, if creating it fixes things. Thanks.

Comment 5 Martin Hoyer 2015-08-19 08:41:27 UTC
Creating /var/target/pr/ directory fixed the problem.

Multipath is not relevant. Happens also without it.

Comment 8 Martin Hoyer 2015-08-31 12:16:35 UTC
Fixed in python-rtslib-2.1.fb57-2.el7
