RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

screenshot of g-c-c network - connections are missing

RHEL 7.2 Beta 1.0

When trying to add VLAN connection in gnome-control-center network or Anaconda installer, ie with nm-connection-editor --create --type=vlan, connections are not offered in the list of available parents. Which means it is not possible to create vlan over bond this way.

When adding the connection in nm-connection-editor, connections are available.

Comment 2 Radek Vykydal 2015-08-21 12:25:50 UTC
This issue is blocking Anaconda's bug 1112674.
Also it might be considered as duplicate of bug 1112672.

Comment 4 Jirka Klimes 2015-08-26 12:33:04 UTC
When creating a connection with "--create" (e.g. nm-connection-editor --create --type=vlan), the list of connection was not yet fetched and thus the connections didn't appear in "Parent interface" list. When editing an existing connection, the "Parent interface" is populated.

We need to wait for the connections even when creating a new connection.

A fix is available in upstream branch of network-manager-applet repository:
jk/editor-create-connection-rh1255735

Comment 5 Lubomir Rintel 2015-08-27 07:01:51 UTC
Looks good to me.

Comment 6 Jirka Klimes 2015-08-27 07:39:30 UTC
Committed to upstream nma-1-0:
8d5e165 editor: read all connections even when we create a new connection (rh #1255735)

(Upstream master branch does not have the problem, because it uses new libnm. And nm_client_get_connections() ensures that all connections are returned).
