Red Hat Bugzilla 1127715 0 low CLOSED RFE: Add support for group projects 2021-02-22 00:41:40 UTC

Internal Links: 1127715

Description Radek Holy 2015-09-10 08:01:10 UTC
Until/When a support for group projects is provided (the bug 1127715), it would be really helpful if there would be a way to move a project from one user account to another one.

The benefit (over creating a new project and deleting the old one) would be that the builds would be preserved and the new user wouldn't have to copy all the settings manually (that might be annoying in case of many projects - like in my case).

I mean something similar to what Github provides.

One use case is for example that a software project hosts their builds in a Copr project but the user who maintains the Copr project is no longer going to work on the software project (and he is potentially going to remove his Fedora account) so the rest of the team would like to move the project under another user account.

Also, it would be nice if (at least for some time) Copr would automatically redirect requests to the new project location and maybe also change all the references in other projects (like copr://user/project) to the new location (or let the other projects decide whether they want this or at least warn the other projects about the change).

Should be covered by forking now.
