RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHEA-2016:2154 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE supermin bug fix update 2016-11-03 13:13:19 UTC

Description Richard W.M. Jones 2015-10-13 13:42:03 UTC
Description of problem:

Bug 1266918 is a flaw in the RPM dependency resolver in supermin5.
Upstream, Pino Toscano rewrote the RPM code to use librpm instead
of running lots of 'rpm' commands. The effect is that it's much
faster and easier to maintain.

We've been using the new code for over a year in Fedora, and it's
time that we used it in RHEL 7.

The benefits are:

 - much faster
 - proper way to access RPM database

The code changes are not especially substantial.

There is no API or command line change.

Comment 2 Richard W.M. Jones 2016-04-20 14:48:47 UTC
supermin-5.1.15-2.el7 is broken. I'm uploading a -3 package
which should fix it.

Comment 3 Richard W.M. Jones 2016-04-27 13:52:06 UTC
supermin-5.1.16-1.el7 is uploaded. This is essentially identical
to the previous 5.1.15-3.el7 package except the version number
has been bumped.

Comment 4 Xianghua Chen 2016-06-28 04:42:52 UTC
Verified with the package:
supermin5-5.1.16-2.el7.x86_64

Result: PASSED
