Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Kathryn Dixon 2015-10-27 16:29:30 UTC
Description of problem:

Make a filter on a content view for errata type security, and then add all by hitting the select all at the top.. then go back to list/edit you will see 0 with a big ! .

If you add errata type security and then manually add errata by 20s-50s, then go back to list/edit you can see all that were manually selected.

content view for rhel 5 base repo, published
added a filter for errata type security and added the 874 errata
published again.
0 packages, and none to list.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make a content view and add the rhel 5 base repo
2. publish content view
3. add a filter to content view with only security type.
4. click add 874 errata ( select all )
5. go back to list/edit to view the 874 errata and you will only see a !
6. publish view again for changes at anytime, doesn't make a difference to only being able to see the !

Actual results:

You can not list/edit the 874 errata

Expected results:

you should be able to list/edit the errata that you have selected to add.

Additional info:

This is true with all repos I have tested, just using the rhel 5 one as an example since this is how we found it.

Comment 2 Craig Donnelly 2015-10-27 18:43:47 UTC
To clarify,

This bug occurs on the Add tab while editing a Content View Filter with only ONE of the THREE categories checked. Having any combination of TWO or all THREE selected, this works fine. If you uncheck two (from Bugfixes, Enhancements, Security) select all + add will not provide anything to the Content View Filter.

Attached is a foreman-tail from this process.

Steps used in foreman-tail:

Foreman production logging set to debug.

Started foreman-tail on content view's filter list.
Chose filter.
Moved to add tab.
Unchecked two of three categories.
selected all 800+ errata, clicked add.
Switched back to List/Remove tab.

foreman-tail during filter attempt.

Comment 4 Kathryn Dixon 2015-12-13 16:01:31 UTC
Testing this in 6.1.4 it seems that the "select all" button is now not there. So you can add the errata but you must manually do this 20ish at a time.

This seems to be heading towards a resolution but ideally the customer would want to

- add a filter to content view with only security type.
- click add 874 errata with a select all button

Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/14917 from this bug

Comment 8 Walden Raines 2016-05-03 19:37:37 UTC
I cannot reproduce the issue in comment#2 or comment#4 but I did encounter a bug that I fixed with https://github.com/Katello/katello/pull/6015. Please reopen if you are still able to reproduce this after my changes are merged.

Comment 9 Bryan Kearney 2016-05-03 20:10:15 UTC
Upstream bug component is Content Management

Comment 10 Bryan Kearney 2016-05-19 14:09:32 UTC
Moving to POST since upstream bug http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/14917 has been closed

Comment 11 jcallaha 2016-07-11 14:35:22 UTC
Verified in Satellite 6.2 Beta Snap 19.1

The addition of a single type of errata now behaves as it should. Adding all 282 security errata was both immediately visible in the List/Remove tab, and visible after publishing.

282 Errata ( 282 0 0 )

Comment 12 Bryan Kearney 2016-07-27 11:43:24 UTC
Since the problem described in this bug report should be
resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a
resolution of ERRATA.

For information on the advisory, and where to find the updated
files, follow the link below.
