Description of problem: I installed lxqt group via dnf group install lxqt. I wanted to remove lxqt group but sadly dnf wanted to remove packages worth 700mb which included all of KDE and other applications. It even included packages that were not explicitly installed by me. So I removed the packages that dnf group install lxqt installed. I have no lxqt but I can no longer install lxqt group anymore because dnf thinks lxqt is installed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dnf-1.1.3-1.fc22.noarch How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. dnf group install lxqt 2. dnf remove (remove packages installed by the lxqt group) 3. dnf group install lxqt Actual results: when you run dnf group install lxqt it will tell you that lxqt group in already installed. Although none of the packages from lxqt group are installed. Expected results: If packages in a group are missing and a user tries to install that group then that should install the missing packages. Also if all the packages from a group are missing then what's the point of misleading a user into believing that it is installed. The bug is that during env group it should remove packages that belongs to that environment which was not installed by other installed group. Saying that your group is still installed is totally fine - you have removed the packages manually not by group command. You can type `dnf group mark remove lxqt` to mark the group as removed.
Jan Zeleny in users mailing list suggested I use group mark and it worked perfectly. My apologies for not reading man pages properly. I am not sure why `dnf group remove lxqt` wants to remove packages that are dependencies of KDE Plasma Desktop and Workstation. It even wants to remove some of the apps that I installed manually like JuK and gnome-shell-extension-gpaste. Why is removing lxqt group triggering removal of all installed desktop environments? Please feel free to close the bug as the primary problem is not a bug. Thank you.
