User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7)
Description of problem:
When I try to boot the computer from the FC2 disk 1, the install program
tries to load initrd.img. During or after the attempt to load the
img my computer reboots.
This machine has a Syntax MB w/ Via c3 @ 800mhz and onboard video.
There is one hard disk and two CD's. FC1 is installed and runs nicely.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot machine from CD
2.At the anaconda prompt hit return, type linux text and return, or
linux checkmedia and return.
Actual Results: System reboots
Expected Results: Installer comes up and starts the install script.
This also happens on my machine, with a P4 3.2G and an ATI-Radeon
based graphics card.
The same DVD on a PIII with a Matrox G400 card boots fine
Fedora Core 2 has now reached end of life, and no further updates will be
provided by Red Hat. The Fedora legacy project will be producing further kernel
updates for security problems only.
If this bug has not been fixed in the latest Fedora Core 2 update kernel, please
try to reproduce it under Fedora Core 3, and reopen if necessary, changing the
product version accordingly.
