Description of problem: Suspend no longer works on Dell Latitude E6520, with it getting stuck in GUI land without actually going into suspend. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cinnamon-2.6.13-10.fc22.x86_64 lightdm-1.10.5-4.fc22.x86_64 kernel-4.2.8-200.fc22.x86_64 Latitude E6520 How reproducible: Happens every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Cinnamon desktop: Click Menu -> Quit -> Suspend Actual results: The screen saver is invoked, but then the machine doesn't actually go into the suspended state. It is unresponsive for a while, and then the screen saver can be unlocked, but it didn't go into suspend in the meantime. Expected results: The machine should go into suspend mode (as evidenced by a blank, powered off screen, and the power LED fading in and out). Additional info: This is a regression apparently due to some update in the last month or so. Powering off, logging back in and trying to suspend again has the same results. This does not occur on a similarly configured (i.e. same package versions as mentioned above) Dell Latitude E5420.
Note that suspending via pm-suspend works, but it's not really adequate as a workaround because it leaves on open logged in environment on resume (i.e. insecure). pm-utils-1.4.1-31.fc22.x86_64
Note that this recently started working out of the blue. I couldn't trace it back to any particular update or change. I no longer have access to that computer. Therefore, resolving as WORKSFORME.
