gedit --geometry option ignores arguments

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. execute gnome-text-editor --geometry=800+240+0+0

Actual results:
gedit is displayed with default width and height

Expected results:
gedit is displayed with the custom width and height

the --geometry option was removed as of gnome-text-editor --version
gedit - Version 3.22.0
