upstream work was done for the mitaka cycle

The code is still waiting for review downstream. I hope some of guys in our team can do it soon. I actually did some tests and the backport seems to work.

Has this been delivered for the OSP 8 GA? If not, it will need to move to 8.0.z unless Steve determines it is a blocker.

This feature is not going to be backported to OSP8 - It has been decided by the engineering team [1] that since it use objects version we can ensure the backport will work in every cases of an upgrade.

The bug tracking support for this for OSP 9 is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1277736 - out intent is to support it and we are working on testing.
