Description of problem: When installing Lighttpd 1.4.39 at Centos 7.2 it gives "404 - Not Found" at http://localhost Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.4.39 How reproducible: Install Lighttpd at Centos 72 and open Web browser page http://localhost Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Lighttpd 1.4.39 2.Start Lighttpd service 3.Open http://localhost with browser. Actual results: 404 - Not Found Expected results: Welcome Page. Additional info: When installing lighttpd 1.4.39, it seems to be a conflict at: - var.server_root value in lighttpd.conf (/srv/www) with - index.html location (/var/www/...) I installed lighttpd-1.4.41-1.el7 on a freshly installed CentOS 7.2 host and started it without making any changes. When I tried to access the newly installed web server, I was greeted with a 404. Relevant config: var.server_root = "/var/www" server.document-root = server_root + "/htdocs" index.html is in /var/www/lighttpd Changing the document-root to server_root + "/lighttpd" fixed the problem.
