Description David Kaspar // Dee'Kej 2016-02-26 16:52:24 UTC
Created attachment 1130864 [details]
visualization of requested changes

Description of problem:
The comments section of each BZ is always aligned to left side of the monitor.

It causes user to look on the left side almost all the time when using big widescreen displays. As a result, this increases the eyes strain and makes it uncomfortable to work with BZ for longer periods of time.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Current BZ release - 4.4 (?)

Expected results:
To have an option in Preferences for every user, which could allow to change the requested alignment of the comments section as needed:
- left
- center
- right
- unwrap (we already have that)

And to be able to set what text width user expects, e.g.:
- 80 characters
- 120 characters
- 160 characters ...

Additional info:
The most comfortable reading is to have the whole comments section moved to the center, with respect to the set width.

This would most likely require to move the current options on the right side above the comments itself. (See attached image for explanation.)

By comments section I've meant the whole comments block, not just the text.

This would be a large amount of work and ongoing maintenance for not a lot of gain.

If you are not happy with the default layout you can override it yourself with a stylish script and a bit of CSS-fu.

The Stylish plugin is available for both Chrome and Firefox.
