I see a lot of people asking "how do i switch to *put your favorite
desktop here*" for standard logins. It used to be simple - but for
some strange reason this functionality was removed in fc2. I just ask
why, and will it be back in FC3? That would be great :)

Comment 1 Than Ngo 2004-09-01 17:40:47 UTC
it's in fc2 and fc3, but the gui part of switchdesk is not installed
by default ;-)

Yes i know, but why not? Why do you have to use the command-line when
setting which gui you want? If it had been switchshell i could had
understood, but...

Most people that dont know about switchdesk does NOT know about the
you-have-to-install-it-yourself (through the cmd line - we have
removed rpm dbl-click support - MOHAHAHA) switchdesk-gui. They just
look in "rh-menu"->"user-settings" (or whatever it is called in english)

Why is it removed? Same goes to rpm-dbl-click-support, but i am to
lazy to subscribe to fedora-devel so i just go off ranting in bugzilla ;)
